Barbara Banfield photo My work continues to grow and develop surface, texture and glazes that refer to environmental imagery. Bringing together both urban and rural landscapes is key to my artistic development. Through the constant testing of clay bodies and glaze materials I have found beautiful and delicate micro crystalline surfaces that flow and enhance form.

While the forms remain functional, wheel thrown and altered, they are intended to be used and admired as art. It is my intention that they marry pleasure and function, and sit well with the hand and eye.
