Lucille creates handwoven fabrics in vibrant, complex colour combinations. She develops patterns for her fabrics using the computer as a design tool. Lucille also weaves rag textiles, in which fabric is sliced apart and reassembled during the weaving, adding depth and texture to her contemporary classic styles. With fibre as her palette, she continues to explore new ideas.
Lucille studied weaving at Sheridan and Canadore Colleges and is a Graduate of the first OHS Instructor’s Course. She studied Textile Arts at Central Tech in Toronto, Design Arts at Georgian College in Barrie and Pattern Drafting at Central Tech and Ryerson.
