Little statues in clay – small vignettes that can sit on the corner of a desk and tinier pieces that can hang as ornaments.
Work that can be viewed from many perspectives yet doesn’t require much interpretation. Just moments of shared experience, sometimes whimsical, sometimes sobering.
Clay that dries naturally, without the fire of a kiln. The softness of water – in paints and sealant, contours of form, washes of colour, the spirit of each piece.
So much of modern life is focused on communication through flat screens. I hope that the themes and tactile depth of this simple work beckon.
