Judith Thompson is a photographer living in Toronto. Judith’s background as an educator, in conjunction with her movement and healing arts practice at Studio Soleil, led her to co-facilitate retreats on the beaches of Costa Rica. It was during these retreats that her lifelong interest in photography took on a new dimension.
Judith’s most recent series “Art: Movement in Stillness” combines her passion for visual art, nature and movement inspired by the beach. Nature’s masterful hand of water and waves moves the sands to create mystifying and transient abstract designs. It is this canvas that inspired her to record, through the lens, some of the images as she walked upon the changing sands of Playa Guiones on the Pacific coast near the pueblo of Nosara.
Exhibitions include two collaborative shows with fellow artist and NIA colleague Noriko Yamamoto, and Art Square Gallery, Toronto group exhibition.
