Fibre & Mixed Media Artist
“Art that honours life’s moments.”
Rita Benson is a psychotherapist and artist who uses felting, knitting, beading, sculpting with clay, wire work, and painting, incorporating found objects and specialty fibres to create symbols of life’s experiences. She creates nests, tapestries, vessels, figurative sculptures, driftwood sculptures, and paintings. Her focus is on giving expression to archetypal human and spiritual experiences for her own process and in ways that others can experience and resonate to for their own journey. These creations make wonderful talismans or gifts to celebrate joyful moments, to offer loving support in times of challenge, and to mark life’s transitions.
Her work has been presented at a variety of juried art shows and studio tours since 2010.
